The ideal candidate for ourCustomer Relations Specialist position will enjoy learning new things and solving challenging problems while assisting customers with a variety of issues and concerns.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining operations of a customer service center including customer interactions, information, concerns, lost and found, fare media inventory, financial transactions, and coordinating office maintenance.
  • Providing customers with up-to-date information about UTA service subjects
  • Handling customer complaints
  • Distributing transit schedules
  • Selling fare media directly and through outlets
  • Working within the organization as a customer advocate to ensure that concerns are addressed and responded to timely.
  • Working closely with other department representatives and division leaders to identify root causes of customer service issues and to develop solutions to improve service quality and mitigate problems
Work Schedule
  • The Customer Relations Specialist position is staffed in a Customer Service Center from 5:00 am to 9:00 pm, Monday through Friday. You may be asked to cover a shift any time during that time window.
  • Shifts are generally five 8-hour shifts, either 5:30 AM - 1:30 PM , 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, OR 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM Monday through Friday determined by seniority with a shift bid, which occurs on an as-needed basis.
  • During your paid training, which lasts 4-6 weeks, you will work from 9:00-5:30, M-F. Your general work schedule will most likely change after training is completed.
  • You must be willing to work nights, early mornings, and holidays as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Two years working with the public in customer service. Preferred experience in investigating and resolving customer complaints.
  • One year experience handling and reconciling cash and being in a position of trust with demonstrated self-management.
  • Associate's degree in Business Management or a related field. (In lieu of a degree, 2 additional years of experience working with the public in customer service will be considered.)

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

  • Basic proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Type 40 WPM and ability to speak a second language preferred.
  • To carry out essential functions of the position, a valid Utah driver's license may be required, with no more than 4 moving violations in the past 3 years and no more than 1 violation of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs within the last ten years.
  • This job requires an initial and annual credit check.
  • This job requires regular and predictable attendance.

Pay Range: $17.692 Per Hour
