Data Scientist I



The University of Pittsburgh, Ophthalmology Department is searching for a Data Scientist I candidate to perform analysis on a variety of experiments.

A master's degree in biotechnology or computer science is required and at least 1 year experience working in a laboratory preferred.


Job Summary

Assists in the execution of research objectives, data collection, and data management. Performs routine procedures, statistical analysis, scientific analysis, and reporting. Integrates data and data sets, performs descriptive and exploratory analysis, and creates routine reports and analysis reporting tools. Utilizes statistical software and adheres to all protocols.


Essential Functions

Duties include:

Perform data analysis on Electronic Health records, clinical trials and biochemistry studies

Support Data management of projects

May include sample preparation in laboratory


Physical Effort

Sit and interface with a computer for long periods of time.

Lift up to 25 lbs.
