Jr. Developer – Full Stack - Military veterans preferred

As the Jr. Developer-Full Stack, the individual will be responsible for using a variety of technologies and frameworks to help build scalable, high performance software solutions. In this role, the Jr. Developer will assist in developing and enhancing our applications to improve our business operations and customer experience.

Responsibilities:

• Builds RESTful services with Node.js (JavaScript / TypeScript) and design clean, intuitive UIs in React
• Writes modular, well-tested code and participate in code reviews to keep our codebase healthy
• Debugs and troubleshoots issues across the stack browser, API, and database
• Collaborates with a designer, product managers, and security specialists to turn requirements into shippable software
• Contributes to sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups in our Agile process
• Learns and grows by exploring new frameworks, DevSecOps practices, and cloud-native tooling
• Performs other tasks as required by OSC Edge

Required Qualifications/Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have 1-3 years professional experience with Node.js on the back end and a modern front-end library (preferably React)
• Solid grasp of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3 (Flexbox / Grid)
• Comfort with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and writing basic SQL.
• Experience designing or consuming RESTful APIs
• Familiarity with Git-based workflows (feature branches, pull requests, CI)
• Clear written and verbal communication; proven ability to work in a team

Preferred Qualifications/Education and Experience.

• Exposure to Docker and container orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift, etc.)
• Scripting in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation or build tasks
• Experience with front-end state-management patterns
• Knowledge of security best practices, STIGs, or working in regulated environments
• Familiarity with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or DoD cloud offerings)
