Overview

As a Principal Planner, You`ll have the autonomy to manage projects independently, making thoughtful adaptations and modifications as needed. You'll also tackle complex or innovative assignments and research, developing new or enhanced techniques and procedures. This role offers a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to showcase your expertise and drive impactful results. Lead the environmental assessments, impact evaluations, environmental surveys, environmental permitting, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations for transportation infrastructure projects. You’ll prepare permit applications, risk assessments and technical documents including proposals, reports, and regulatory agency correspondence. You`ll design systems and environmental protection plans for ecological and natural resource field surveys, site planning and permitting.



Responsibilities

• Evaluate the transportation-related impacts of federal and state legislative proposals and conduct policy analysis.
• Introduce innovative ideas, influence strategic plans and processes, and lead the forefront of transportation planning and design in Florida.
• Plan and manage all aspects of small to medium environmental projects and processes.
• Assisting public and private clients with permit coordination acquisition and compliance.
• Establish and grow client relations and projects, including marketing, contractual, design and production meetings.
• Participation in public information meetings and hearings.
• Assist with NEPA document preparation.
• Build and mentor a team of professionals.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor of science degree in Biology, Ecology, Geology, Environmental Sciences, or related discipline
  • 10+ years working as a Transportation Planner or Engineer, including experience as a Project/Task Manager for transportation projects
  • This hybrid job operates between an office environment and a field environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones and copy machines. May occasionally be exposed to work environments that include exposure to inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazard, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water, depending on project requirements. While performing the duties of this job, physical demands of the employee include frequent sitting, moving, standing, talking, hearing, and occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling. This job may occasionally require operating a company vehicle, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.
