FHC Recruiter, Special Populations
The David C. Frederick Honors College (FHC) at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a highly motivated and skilled recruiter to join our team. This role focuses on identifying, recruiting, and building relationships with high-achieving students from top-tier public and private high-schools to join our organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in talent acquisition, a deep understanding of the university recruitment landscape, and a passion for connecting with top academic talent. The successful candidate will become the primary recruiter for a new scholar cohort embedded in the FHC, that focuses on high-achieving students. This requires a strategic approach tailored to attract and select individuals who not only have strong academic credentials but also demonstrate leadership, potential, and alignment with the goals of the cohort.
We seek a highly motivated and organized individual possessing a strong verbal, written, and active listening skillset. This individual will also have skills in relationship building, networking, and in creating an inclusive and welcoming experience. This position collaborates with the FHC Admissions and Recruiting office, as well as other FHC offices and university partners.
Designs, analyzes, and executes the recruiting marketing and correspondence plan. Compiles specialized recruiting projects for coaches and aids in managing social media accounts. Coordinates all on-campus recruiting efforts. Assists with coordinating team travel, complying with regulations and standards, and performing associated recruiting administrative duties.
Travel nationally for recruitment fairs, individual school visits, and other select events that could draw student scholars for this cohort. Scheule meetings with individual or groups of students and school counselors to present opportunities available through the FHC and the University of Pittsburgh. Design and develops creative recruiting materials that are sent to private high schools, parents, and used on social media. Creates a marketing campaign that includes information on academics, student development skills, University and Honors rankings, and campus life. Designs the recruiting letterhead, note cards, and envelopes in conjunction with university marketing partners. Prioritizes individual relationship building to develop a personalized recruitment experience for students through commitment to Pitt. Participates in individual and small group meetings throughout the year, both on-campus and off-site, with nationwide travel a required work component Analyzes current trends related to other ranked honors colleges and university programs and utilizes resources for a data-informed recruitment. Coordinates all on-campus recruiting correspondence relating to campus visits, the development and oversight of itineraries for on campus recruiting visits for prospective student scholars, organization of all campus tours, and any administrative support around recruiting as deemed necessary by the FHC Director of Admissions. Develops relationships with and serves as liaison to numerous departments and groups within the FHC, including the Office of Student Services, FHC Advising, the Office of Undergraduate Research, the Office of National Scholarships, and the Office for Community Engaged Learning. Works in collaboration with university admissions to ensure requirements for admissions are being met.
This position requires ability to travel up to 75% of the time. Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. Valid driver's license required.
