Position Summary:

The Field Service Technician – II with advanced technical expertise in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving complex audiovisual system issues. In this role, you’ll work directly on-site with clients to support audio, video, and control systems, including networked AV equipment and software. Your responsibilities will range from system commissioning to control system programming edits, requiring a strong foundation in electronics, computers, and AV industry best practices.

This position demands attention to detail, punctuality, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple technical tasks efficiently in a customer-focused environment.

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Must obtain AVIXA CTS and AVIXA ANP (or equivalent) certifications within one year
• Minimum 4 years of experience in AV/IT technical support or field engineering
• Proficient in Windows and Apple operating systems
• Skilled in video display setup and color calibration
• Intermediate experience with control system programming and GUI editing (AMX, Crestron, Extron, QSC, etc.)
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, HTML, C#Pro, and digital communication protocols (IP, RS232, RS485, USB)
• Proficient in configuring and troubleshooting audio/video equipment and conferencing systems
• Experienced with AV and IT tools, hand tools, and test equipment
• Intermediate knowledge of wired and wireless TCP/IP network configuration
• Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough diagnostic troubleshooting and repairs on integrated AV systems
• Configure and adjust video and audio conferencing systems, DSPs, and audio systems
• Load, edit, and troubleshoot control system code and GUIs with remote support as needed
• Repair system components, including connectors and cables; perform installation and de-installation of equipment
• Provide detailed written documentation of service activities and follow up on outstanding issues
• Maintain and update technical bulletins and job-related documentation, including configuration files and programming data
• Act as backup onsite support technician when required
• Train entry-level AV service engineers using industry and internal training resources
• Deliver system training to clients as necessary
• Mentor other service technicians to develop their technical skills
• Adhere to OSHA safety standards and company policies
• Participate in safety meetings and ongoing training sessions
