Position Purpose
The Security Integration Engineer is responsible for the advanced design, implementation, and integration of physical security and network systems, ensuring seamless interoperability across multiple platforms. This role requires deep expertise in security technology, network infrastructure, and system integration to deliver high-performance security solutions. The engineer will provide advanced technical support, oversee system optimizations, lead complex projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including customers, sales, field technicians, and management.
Pay Range: $45.00 - $60.00 per hr. plus potential profit share

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Lead the design and integration of complex security systems, including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, mass notification, and perimeter security.
- Develop comprehensive network architecture plans for security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, and network segmentation.
- Ensure security system designs comply with industry standards, cybersecurity best practices, and customer requirements.
- Oversee the testing, commissioning, and acceptance process of newly installed security systems.
- Develop and implement custom integrations between security systems, IT networks, and building management systems.
- Serve as the technical lead on large-scale security integration projects, providing expertise and guidance to field technicians and project managers.
- Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution and system performance.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including design drawings, system schematics, as-built documentation, and operational manuals.
- Provide advanced technical support for customers, internal teams, and external partners.
- Conduct customer training on security system operation, best practices, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Act as a trusted security consultant, advising clients on system upgrades, improvements, and emerging technologies.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution of system issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 4-year technical degree, or a 2-year technical school degree with at least 2 years of networking systems experience, 8 years of experience in IP-based networking and electronic security systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Strong commitment to quality work, meticulous attention to detail, and adherence to safe work practices for both self and team members.
- Proficient in basic electricity, including AC/DC theory, Ohm's Law, and using a digital volt/ohm meter.
- Advanced expertise in IP-based physical security systems.
- Extensive knowledge of IP-based and electronic communication systems.
- In-depth understanding of network and computer operating systems.
- Proficient in internetworking devices, techniques, operating systems, and protocols.
- Advanced knowledge in programming, scripting, and integration protocols.
- Excellent customer service abilities.
- Exceptional troubleshooting capabilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
- Proven ability to interpret mechanical plans and specifications.
- Familiar with computer drafting software, word processors, and spreadsheets.
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle
Preferred Qualifications
- Networking Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, Network+, or equivalent.
- Security System Certifications: Lenel Certified Expert (LCE), Genetec Certified Professional, AMAG Symmetry, Avigilon ACC/ACM.
