Job Title: Mobilization Liaison

Department: Operations

Reports To: Mobilization Coordinator


FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY: This position facilitates the successful completion of unit and individual schedules for Soldiers in both the mobilization and demobilization processes. When needed, this position joins operations centers to update and brief Soldier Readiness Center (SRC) operational information to Government stakeholders.

21030 MATERIAL COORDINATOR

The Material Coordinator coordinates and expedites flow within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules or department supervisors' priorities. In this job, the Material Coordinator reviews production schedules and confers with department supervisors to determine requirements and establishes sequences to departments according to priorities and anticipated availabilities; arranges for transfer to meet production schedules, and with department supervisors for transportation to various departments.

This Worker may monitor and control movement along system and compute needs, while applying knowledge of processes and using adding machine. This worker may compile reports of quantity on hand, move or transport from one department to another; may compile perpetual production records in order to locate individuals in process of production, using manual or computerized system, and maintain employee records.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities listed in a satisfactory manner:

  • Collect accurate information and provide current status of mobilizing/demobilizing individuals/elements/units.
  • Receive and brief unit personnel at the arrival site
  • Ensure every Soldier has a copy of the MFGI mobilizing/demobilizing in-processing checklists and provide coordinating instructions for the following processing day.
  • Meet units/individuals/elements thirty minutes prior to movement to scheduled processing facilities.
  • Contractor shall brief units on the process of each station they will process and will ensure completion of all assigned prescribed unit processing activities.
  • Coordinate schedule changes with the appropriate agency and conduct daily update briefing with unit leadership to review processing completion, upcoming requirements and any changes to the units schedule
  • Update appropriate rosters upon completion of the unit/individual/element unit processing daily
  • Attempt to resolve all issues during the unit/individual/element processing; report unresolved issues to the supervisor.
  • Collect information on all significant actions, issues and events that may delay a mobilizing/demobilizing individuals/elements/unit's effort to accomplish their processing schedule and/or to meet validation requirements.
  • Track and monitor all individual/element/units processing and confirm all required Fort Bragg mobilization/demobilization processing has occurred.
  • Receive, welcome, and track completion status of individuals and elements/units throughout GSO processing.
  • Track all individual, unit or group progress during processing to ensure all assigned group members complete the regulatory process
  • Identify and report to the supervisor on those Soldiers with processing issues
  • Prepare spreadsheets, matrices, tables, and other documentation to be utilized for status tracking and reporting

· Complete and submit a unit closure report within 48 hours of unit departure from the MFGI.

· When needed, serve as staff for the Deployment Operations Center

· Brief Government stakeholders on the status of SRP operations, which includes, but is not limited to: staff manning strength; personnel processing data and deployability statistics.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The requirements identified below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required to satisfactorily meet the expectations of this job:

· Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance

  • Must obtain and maintain the appropriate Secret Internet Protocol Router Network account(s)

· Must be able to operate a Personal Computer (PC) with a functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (primarily Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Windows graphical user interface) and Data/web based systems required for task area performing work.

· Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.

· Must have a working knowledge of Army rank structure and military unit relationships (e.g., Company, Battalion, Brigade, Division, etc).

· Must be able to work under stressful conditions and be physically able to demonstrate the required tasks to standard.

  • Possess knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor/Assess performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
  • Identify complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Must be able to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.

  • Must be able to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).


Requirements:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: At a minimum, possess a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Preferred minimum 5 years military personnel experience. Preferred 3 years experience with mobilization/demobilization processing. An equivalent combination of education and experience as identified above.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English. Ability to read, comprehend and explain instructions, letters, memos, emails and correspondence from inside the organization as well as from external sources. Ability to effectively respond, communicate and present information to senior management, contracting officials, clients and other employees in the organization.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to organize work, define and solve problems, establish and manage priorities, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions based on facts. Manager participates in prioritization of work and decision-making on allocation of resources. The incumbent must be able to analyze a situation analytically, evaluate the facts/data and formulate a plan of action.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a valid U.S. state driver's license, applicable for the type and class of vehicle being operated.

Duties are primarily performed in an office environment; however, travel to off-site projects may involve work outdoors; in warehouses; supply points; motor pools; maintenance facilities; etc. for short periods of time.
