Overview

 

We are welcoming applications from clinicians and clinician-scientists to join our Breast Cancer Program. We are looking for individuals who share our goal of growing and fully developing an academic breast cancer program focused on clinical care and collaborative research, offering high-quality clinical and translational clinical trials. The OHSU Knight Cancer Institute is an NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center with basic science and clinical research capabilities already in place. Our focus now is to foment extensive opportunities for collaboration and development of breast cancer clinical and bench-to-bedside investigation initiatives.

 

The duties of this faculty clinician position are in support of the missions, goals, and objectives of OHSU and the School of Medicine and include:

  • Care of patients with breast cancer;
  • Clinical trials participation and development, if interested;
  • Establish and maintain a program of scholarly activity directed toward improved understanding of the causes;
  • Participate in administrative committees and councils of OHSU, as approved by the Chair and Division Head;
  • Participate in the education of medical students and house staff in accordance with assignments to the department by the Curriculum Committee and Chair;
  • Engage in public service through consultative activities with non-university groups with the knowledge and consent of the Chair and Division Head.

It is anticipated a clinical faculty position will be made up of the following components: Clinical, Teaching Research/Academic, and Service. Academic rank will be based on qualifications.



Responsibilities

  • MD or MD/PhD
  • Licensed to practice medicine in Oregon
  • Board certified in internal medicine
  • Board eligible/certified in hematology and/or oncology.


Qualifications



  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching, research, and patient care. 
  • Proven success in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience in developing and implementing clinical trials is highly valued.
