Title: Career Ambassador

Unit: Student Employment

Department: Office of Career Integrated Learning

Reports to: Dean, Career Integrated Learning and Apprenticeship

Date: May 13, 2025

General Summary: The Career Ambassador will work with OCIL staff to provide student services related to career exploration, professional development and Learn & Earn opportunities. The position offers a unique opportunity to develop the following professional skills: problem solving, teamwork, sales & marketing, research, one-on-one and group communication, customer service - all of which are highly valued by employers across all industries.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Increase students' familiarity with and utilization of Handshake and Focus2
  • Assist with career fairs, represent Office of Career Integrated Learning [OCIL] at open houses and other relevant campus-wide events
  • In collaboration with OCIL staff, prepare and deliver presentations to students to promote key programs, best practices and resources
  • Assist OCIL staff in editing students' resumes and cover letters
  • Help students create / update LinkedIn profiles
  • Help with data management and research projects, as needed
  • Ensure smooth running of OCIL by proactively assisting with various administrative tasks
  • Offer one-to-one and group peer mentoring opportunities for Learn & Earn students


Job Requirements:
  • Must be in good academic and student conduct standing

  • Experience working in an office and/or in a role involving professional written communication

  • Must maintain a minimum overall GPA of 2.75

  • Excellent communication and writing skills; solid basic computing skills

  • Enthusiastic about the OCIL mission, eager to learn and highly dependable

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly establish rapport and work well with students from diverse backgrounds and with various academic needs

  • Strong time management skills, proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment



Additional Information:

Salary Range: $18.00 per hour In accordance with College Part Time Wage Schedule

Hours: 10-18.5 hours per week depending on student availability. Hours can increase in summer and be reduced during the academic year. Interested students are encouraged to apply to discuss their availability.

Commitment: Position requires minimum of six month commitment and may run through the 25/26 academic year.

Location: Lowell or Bedford campus, depending on their course schedule and transportation availability

Expected Start Date: June 2025
