The Dietetic & Nutrition Internship Manager in collaboration with Carillion DNS and VT HNFE,  plans, coordinates, and directs, all functions related to the Education and Experience of  Dietetic and Nutrition Graduate Students in a variety of sites and types of nutrition services.

Duties of the Dietetic & Nutrition Internship Manager include, but are not limited to, the following:
 

• Plan and coordinate, in collaboration with HNFE MS Nutrition and Dietetics Program Director and Assistant Director, HNFE graduate students on a rotating schedule at Carilion Clinic facilities in Medical Nutrition Therapy/Clinical Nutrition supervised practice courses, Food Management, Wellness, and Community rotations.
• Teach the Nutrition Care Process (NCP), electronic health records, and other competencies related to clinical practice to students and assess quality of students' use of the NCP with patients and clients with a variety of health conditions.
• Assist with instruction of HNFE Internship courses in Clinical Dietetics, Food Management, Wellness and Community and all the responsibilities associated with these courses.
• Organize experiences and participate in collaborative teaching with HNFE and Carilion Clinic faculty. Assess graduate student's level of clinical competence and provide guidance/experiences to progress to independence.
• Instruct Clinical Nutrition Care Applications Lab in the Nutrition and Dietetics graduate program.
• Actively participate in curriculum development for clinical supervised practice rotations that aligns with ACEND program educational standards and mission and goals of both. Carilion Clinic and HNFE MS in Nutrition and Dietetics program.

What We Require:

Education: Master's Degree in Dietetics and Nutrition or related field required. A doctorate degree is preferred

Experience: Five (5) Years Clinical/Management Experience in Health Care setting required. Previous experience as an Internship Coordinator/Director preferred.

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Active Registered Dietitian
