Overview

The Director of Demand Planning is responsible for the Demand Planning function for AFNA by leading, driving, and facilitating the development of the AFNA Demand Plan (both mid-term and long-term horizon). Responsible of the demand reviews, inputs and coordinating with cross-functional departments by influencing and interacting with executive stakeholders. The role also includes the responsibility for the overall management of the Demand Planning calendar scheduling all meetings and providing the necessary presentation documents, supporting analytics to senior leaders and stakeholders. This position will engage all levels of the organization and guide each functional area to understand how the demand affects and drives the S&OP and supply chain process.



Responsibilities

Demand Planning

  • Lead and focus on developing and executing demand planning strategy to optimize inventory levels, improve forecast accuracy down to the DC level (distribution center), Customer and support business goals.
  • Lead the collaboration with the Commercial SBUs, Finance and various departments in implementing and refining demand planning process and ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and works towards Best in Class IBP (Integrated Business Planning).
  • Manage and oversee the forecasting statistical modeling tool(s) and what-if modeling scenarios.
  • Provide, review, and analyze the Demand Plan analytics versus budget, ROB (Review of Business Cycles) understanding the changes, trends, new product launches, discontinuations, promotions and identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Leverage advanced analytics and business intelligence tools to track and analyze key performance indicators, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions that improve the forecast outlook and responsiveness.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Planning and other relevant departments. Foster a culture of open communication, shared goals, and drive collaborative problem-solving to achieve overall AFNA’s business goals.

Forecasting “Demantra” System

  • Drive and spearhead technical initiatives for continuous improvements and enhancements.
  • Spearhead data accuracy analysis and advocate for data integrity to optimize statistical models.
  • Maintain in-depth working knowledge of the system capability, process and be the subject matter expert.
  • Develop, facilitate, train the various aspects of the Demand Planning process, identifying areas of improvements, implementing corrective actions where required, and evolving AFNAs journey towards IBP Best in Class.
  • Measure, control, and improve demand plans through clearly defined metrics.
  • Facilitate, coordinate, and document regularly scheduled monthly meetings to include meeting minutes, consensus agreements between functions and stakeholders and follow-ups.
  • Ensure appropriate forecast metrics are monitored and reported.

Team Development

  • Develop and mentor staff to include training, personal development, evaluation, and career planning as appropriate.
  • Foster team approach to demand planning balancing resources to achieve corporate objectives.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years in supply chain with an impressive history of accomplishments and continuous improvements.
  • Bachelor’s degree – Supply Chain, Business Administration, Operations, or Engineering
  • Proven experience in hiring, managing, and leading a high-performance team.
  • Strong understanding of demand forecasting methodologies, inventory management principles and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills with strong leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to interact with internal and external executive stakeholders.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and driving operational excellence.
  • High level proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Project Management. Project BI experience is a plus.
  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Range $180,000 to $200,000
