Physical Requirements
This position requires regularly walking and pushing a computer on wheels workstation and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing). Also involves some exposure to loud noises, cuts/punctures, blood-borne or airborne pathogens, and combative/violent people.
Shift
Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday 12:45 p.m. – 1:15 a.m.
36 worked hours per week (three 12.5s). Some holidays are required. Position may be eligible for shift and weekend differentials.

The Patient Access Representative is responsible for:Providing patient arrivalsPatient RegistrationResolution of patient complaints.Collection and verification of demographic information and insurance/payer source. information and correction of registration errors.Collection of patient-responsibility payments at time of service (copays, co-insurance, self-pay estimates).Maintaining HIPAA compliant and comply with all UKHC policies regarding patient privacy and confidentiality.Participating in unit and Enterprise activities to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
The ideal candidate will be customer service oriented; possess patient scheduling and health insurance knowledge; have the ability to multi-task with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail; be proficient in Microsoft Office, to include Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal); have solid time management, critical thinking, follow-through, and planning and organizational skills; and have a high level of respect for confidentiality.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? NoPreferred Education/Experience
Associate degree and at least four years of healthcare customer service experience preferred; previous experience working with patient registration highly preferred.
