Job Details:

The Mercer Center for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Care clinic in Macon, GA is searching for a Radiologic Technologist/Mammographer.


Responsibilities:

The radiology technician will be able to perform mammograms, ultrasounds and patient x-rays procedures and report results to our physician team. This position will be responsible for making patients who come in for procedures feel comfortable as well as ensure that patients are treated in compliance standards of care and safety measures at the CSDC outpatient center in Macon, Georgia.

Qualifications:

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, along with experience performing X-rays and using x-ray equipment. Clinical experience during the course of schoolwork/certification is applicable.

Certifications:

  • Completion of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology;

  • Current certification from the American Registry of Radiology Technology (ARRT);

  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).

  • State of Georgia Licensure and certification in Radiologic Technology.

  • Current CPR certification required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of x-ray equipment;

  • Produce a computer-generated or film image for interpretation by a physician;

  • Calculate, measure, and record radiation dosage or radiopharmaceuticals received, used, and disposed, using computer and following physician's prescription;

  • Perform quality control checks on laboratory equipment or cameras;

  • Maintain and calibrate radioisotope and laboratory equipment;

  • Dispose of radioactive materials and store radiopharmaceuticals, following radiation safety procedures;

  • Prepare stock radiopharmaceuticals, adhering to safety standards that minimize radiation exposure to workers and patients;

  • Explain test procedures and safety precautions to patients and provide them with assistance during test procedures.
