Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Student Success Advisor (SSA) engages students in proactive and individualized academic advising supports, and manages caseloads of students to positively influence overall student engagement, persistence, and academic success. SSA staff members provide supportive outreach and case management services for students needing support, respond to referrals from faculty and staff, and assist students who seek help. SSAs develop and support a variety of student success programming — including peer mentoring/advising, new student orientation, and structured success interventions — and serve in other relevant capacities supporting various projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:Degree: Master’s degree in Counseling, Student Development, Higher Education, or a related field;
Work experience: 2-5 years relevant work experience
Type/Field of Experience: Advising and/or working with a diverse undergraduate student population to support ongoing student development and strategic learning while advancing the work of equity and inclusivity through advising and other student success initiatives.
Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills (particularly in working with a diverse student population), as well as strong organizational and management skills are required; demonstrate a strong understanding of institutional/academic policies.

When determining and establishing hiring rates or recruitment ranges for a position, the College considers a number of factors including the budget for the position, the range of the grade, the external market for the position or similar positions, level and scope of responsibilities, required education, skills and relevant experience as well as internal equity. All salary offers must have the prior approval of the Office of Human Resources.
The anticipated hiring or recruitment range for this position is $55,000 – $58,000.
