Job Title: Data Engineer (CLEARED)

Location(s): Arlington, VA (Hybrid, candidates must live in the greater Washington, DC metro area)

Clearance Required: MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE; an ACTIVE TOP SECRET is PREFERRED

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineers to support our AI and Analytics platform initiatives. This role involves designing and maintaining analytics systems using AWS services and big data tools, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and supporting machine learning and advanced analytics workloads. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience in data engineering and a strong understanding of cloud-based analytics platforms..

Position Requirements:

Required Clearance: MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE; an ACTIVE TOP SECRET is PREFERRED

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree Required, Master Preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable data models, ETL pipelines, and data structures to support analytics and machine learning initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain data extraction, transformation, and migration scripts.
  • Cleanse, process, and verify the integrity of data used in analytical and operational use cases.
  • Enhance data collection procedures to include information relevant for building advanced analytics solutions.
  • Conduct ad-hoc data analyses and build user-friendly reports and dashboards using visualization tools.
  • Implement automated anomaly detection systems and monitor their ongoing performance.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, data modelers, and other engineers to support project goals.
  • Provide technical leadership and contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle—from design to deployment.

Required Skills / Experience:

  • Hands-on experience with data engineering tools such as Hadoop, Cloudera, and Apache Spark.
  • Proficiency with AWS services including EMR Studio.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, and version control workflows.
  • Experience working with or maintaining an Analytics Repository.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into data science projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of relevant data engineering experience.
  • Active Secret Clearance is required.
  • Must reside in the DC Metro area and be available for regularly scheduled on-site meetings.
