Job Summary
Dr. Jody Stokes-Casey seeks a graduate or upper-level
undergraduate student to serve as a research assistant for
the Oral Histories of Art Education in Kentucky project. This role
involves supporting the collection, transcription, and archiving of
interviews with art educators across Kentucky. The assistant will
help coordinate outreach, schedule and conduct interviews, and
follow oral history protocols to prepare materials for archival
submission at the Louie B. Nunn Center for Oral History.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with recruitment and communication with
interview participants
• Conduct and/or support oral history interviews (training
provided)
• Transcribe and prepare interview materials for archive
submission
• Ensure compliance with Institutional Review Board (IRB)
guidelines
• Maintain organized records and workflow documentation
This position offers hands-on experience in oral history research
and an opportunity to contribute to a meaningful, statewide archival project in arts education
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Interest in art education and/or oral history
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Completion of IRB and Responsible Conduct of Research
training (can be done upon hiring)
