The Lee-Oesterreich Lab at the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Postdoctoral Associate to join our multidisciplinary team focused on advancing breast cancer research, particularly in invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC). Our research spans tumor biology, therapeutic resistance, metastasis, and the development of patient-derived models and multi-omic approaches.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and contribute to research projects involving molecular and cellular characterization of breast cancer.
  • Develop and apply in vitro and in vivo models (e.g., cell lines, organoids, xenografts, syngeneic models).
  • Analyze genomic and transcriptomic data (e.g., scRNAseq, WES, WGS) in collaboration with computational scientists.
  • Mentor junior lab members and contribute to the collaborative lab environment.
  • Prepare manuscripts, presentations, and grant-related reports.
  • Engage with internal and external collaborators, including industry partners.

Requirements are a Doctorate in Cancer Biology and 4-5 years of experience/exposure in cell and molecular biology techniques.

  • Experience with animal models and/or prior work in breast cancer research.
  • Strong communication, organization, and data interpretation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
