The University of Pittsburgh is looking for a Post Doctoral Associate in the lab of Dr Deepinder Dhaliwal to help with the creation of a randomized controlled clinical trial to assess the objective and subjective effects of acupuncture in the treatment of dry macular degeneration.

Duties or Responsibilities: The Post Doctoral Associate will help will all aspects of clinical trial design and perform background research to identify the optimal acupuncture protocol for both the active and sham groups. They will be responsible for establishing inclusion and exclusion criteria, primary and secondary endpoints, sample size, and optimal testing protocol. They will then help with trial recruitment, enrollment, and make sure subject retention is high throughout the trial.

They will also be responsible for performing study evaluations, including testing/imaging of the subjects. They will be available to answer all study-related questions.

PhD in a Scientific field required—ability to write and publish manuscripts and manage subjects in the clinical trial.
