The University of South Alabama’s department of Development and Alumni Relations is seeking to hire an Alumni Membership Specialist. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.
Essential Functions
These are the job duties required of the position.
Essential Functions
- Solicits alumni, friends, faculty/staff and other constituencies for membership into the USA National Alumni Association.
- Assists the Assistant Director in developing and implementing strategic marketing and communications plans with goals and objectives including annual and long-range membership goals.
- Assists in the development and implementation of the plan for special events to recruit Association memberships.
- Interacts by phone, letter or in person with students, faculty and staff.
- Maintains the databases of alumni records and membership dues and gifts.
- Accepts cash, check and credit card payments and prepares receipts.
- Analyzes membership data and prepares reports on a monthly and as needed basis.
- Assists the Assistant Director, Building Management and Special Events in planning and implementing events where membership recruitment opportunities will be available.
- Manages the Association’s awards programs, including scholarships, faculty excellence awards and employee awards.
- Assists the Development Office in the identification of potential gift prospects and cultivation of alumni through outreach activities and events.
- Recruits alumni volunteers.
- Attends meetings and Alumni and Development events that may include overnight travel, nights and weekends.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
- Related duties as required.
