CARDIOLOGY TECHNICIAN (FULL-TIME, DAYS) - Military veterans preferred

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists RN in performing stress tests

• Explains the procedure to the patient
• Preps the patient (applies EKG and places IV as needed) and enters initial information into the system
• Records information during the test and assists the RN as needed
• Identifies and relays pertinent information to the RN during testing to ensure patient safety
• Transports patients from hospital room to inpatient testing room.
• Admits outpatient when necessary

Performs adult and pediatric EKGs

• Explains the procedure to patient (and parents if patient is a minor)
• Assures that EKGs are available to the interpreting physicians 
• Admits outpatients when necessary

Performs Holter monitoring and event monitoring procedures

• Explains procedure to the patient
• Applies and removes monitor
• Scans monitor and makes report available for interpreting physician
• Admits outpatients when necessary

Maintain equipment and records

• Files and distributes copies as appropriate
• Enters charges and orders
• Orders supplies for the area
• Helps maintains equipment in working order and places work orders when needed

Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: 

High school diploma or equivalent. BLS or CPR for Healthcare Providers certification required. Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT Certification) required or must be obtained within 2 years of employment.
