SUMMARY

The Electrical/Plumbing Technician position is responsible for maintaining and repairing the physical structures of company owned residential and commercial buildings, ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with company policies and procedures. This role involves preventative maintenance on farm equipment, troubleshooting and repairing various systems, and performing general mechanical work. The technician will also assist other departments as needed and must adhere to safety guidelines and standard operating procedures.


DUTIES 

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on buildings and equipment, including basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.
  • Perform general mechanical and carpentry work including installation, fabrication, and repair.
  • Maintain and repair plumbing and electrical systems in residential, agricultural, and commercial buildings.
  • Perform general troubleshooting, diagnosis, replace or repair parts, and testing.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs completed, parts used, equipment condition, etc.
  • Safely operate farm or other equipment on a regular basis.
  • Maintain and prepare farm equipment.
  • Cleaning buildings and storage units.
  • Follow safety rules and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Receive and execute work orders or verbal instructions from the supervisor.
  • Report safety issues or concerns to management in a timely manner.
  • And all other duties as assigned based on the scope of this position.


REQUIRED SKILLS

  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record with a willingness and ability to obtain a Class B CDL and HAZMAT endorsement within 6 months of being hired.
  • Basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry skills.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to sketch, read, and understand technical drawings and layouts.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, climb ladders, perform work on roofs, in basements, crawl spaces, or other confined spaces.
  • Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Reliability and timeliness.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to communicate well.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize.


PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Electrical and/or plumbing certification is a plus but not required.
  • Landscaping and agricultural equipment experience are also plus.
  • Preference for 2 years of experience in one or both trades
