Overview
Assists physician during cases while operating a variety of complex radiologic imaging equipment including fluoroscopy and ultrasonography within the Cardiac Cath Lab suite. This includes circulating in the procedure room, operating the imaging equipment in both adult and congenital procedures. Cross train to another service area (Cath Lab, Hybrid OR, etc).
Prep the patient and prepare supplies under sterile conditions for the procedure. Scrub in with the physician and assist in performing procedure. Ability to use fine motor skills with prepping supplies and equipment, including but not limited to, threading balloons on wires.
Accurately obtains x-rays for the exams while being respectful to the patient’s abilities and safety issues.
Operates automatic injectors and selects the appropriate contrast agent for the patient and the exam under the direction of the physician.
Responsible for equipment maintenance and use including, but not limited to, recognizing, troubleshooting, reporting, and documenting equipment malfunctions along with coordinating borrowing equipment from other departments.
Student candidates must obtain the RT(R) (ARRT) certification within 6 months of their hire date. Candidates must have a current Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) temporary license for student hires and permanent license for registered hires.
