Assistant Director of Parking & Transportation Services manages the daily operations of the university parking system through the administration of the campus parking management software. The incumbent is responsible for parking permits, citations, and pay stations. The incumbent will oversee the highly confidential medical parking exception approval process. The incumbent will assist in the planning, management, and coordination of all parking and transportation operations. This position ensures regulatory compliance, supervises personnel, and helps enhance the overall experience for faculty, staff, and students. The incumbent will monitor and coordinate all transportation programs and services including Safe Rides. The incumbent will be responsible for marketing and outreach of all university parking and transportation options to faculty, staff, and students to include proposing new parking or transportation initiatives. The incumbent will assist and maintain the mobility shuttle service and the vehicles associated with the program and coordinate the calendar and execution of the President’s car service.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manages T2 PARCS garage payment system: monitor and reconcile daily the parking credit cards and cash receipts for the garages.
  • Coordinates, implements, administers, and evaluates the parking operation, parking management system, and parking enforcement.
  • Manages the parking management system, including monitoring daily parking utilizations and space counts to ensure available parking spaces.
  • Ensures that there is an effective parking operation for the university community, and that a high standard of customer service is offered.
  • Participates in the planning and research of future programs and improvements relating to parking.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to fulfill parking and transportation needs and requests.
  • Oversee the parking appeals committee, and highly confidential medical exceptions forms. Coordinates the university fleet management operations by ensuring that the required data is posted monthly; all maintenance on vehicles is up to date along with the policies for the University Fleet program. Assists with the Safe Rides and hiring student drivers.
  • Review and revise the shuttle bus transportation schedule to ensure increased efficiency and to reduce costs.
  • Coordinate all special event shuttles to include scheduling and mapping of routes.
  • Collaborate with other departments as needed.
  • Maintain VU Parking Portal, Website for Parking and Transportation pages
Minimum Qualifications:

Formal Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Work Experience
Work Skills (e.g., written and verbal communication skills)
Specific Job Knowledge (e.g., knowledge of principles and procedures related to field and area)

  • Minimum of five (5) years of related job experience
  • Minimum of 5 years + experience creating marketing plans for new parking and transportation initiatives and marketing the use of current programs.
  • Minimum of 5 years + experience in contract administration of contracts terms, writing requests for proposals, etc.
  • Demonstrated administrative work experience in day- to -day administration of programs in parking and transportation.
  • Equipment Knowledge
  • Ability to operate PC and associated software packages including Agile Fleet and T2 Parking software.
