GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for creating and building relationships with customers and prospects. Manage the successful completion of assigned Floor Covering projects. This includes planning, organizing and integrating all activities associated with the projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Represent McCoy-Rockford company values, culture, products and services to general contractors, end users, and other outside entities to influence specification and product selection
- Build and maintain strong relationships with current and new customers, general contractors, and end users; identify potential leads and sales prospects
- Understand customer’s flooring requirements; review job site conditions and conduct field survey
- Determine resource requirements for project; estimate time, materials and personnel costs; create proposals
- Develop accurate sales projections and consistently meet and/or exceed sales goals and profit margins
- Manage each project against the established project budget
- Communicate project status with customer
- Ensure all issues or change order requests are appropriately documented and addressed
- Ensure all work is complete, invoiced, and documented
- Participate in team meetings and training; complete all reporting requirements on a timely basis
- Attend team and company-wide meetings in person, including team meetings, Town Halls, quarterly meetings, and performance discussions
- Act as point of contact for local office operations
- Willingness to travel for in-person meetings or company events
- Ability to navigate a hybrid work environment working independently and without direct oversight
- Participate in regular virtual or in person check-ins with leadership to report progress. challenges and key updates
KEY SELECTION AND SUCCESS FACTORS
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- 3 to 7 years’ experience in commercial floor covering industry
- Project Management experience of commercial flooring projects required
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent with some college required
OTHER/PREFERRED:
- Must be highly organized and self-motivated
- Must be able to work independently and balance competing priorities
- Must have strong people skills with excellent listening, oral and written communication skills
- Must demonstrate good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills
- Must have basic mathematical aptitude
