RMC is in search of a Senior Cloud Engineer to become part of our team. The individual chosen for this role will be instrumental in the design and implementation of cloud infrastructure to support a variety of business initiatives and workloads within a secure and compliant framework.

Duties Include:

  • Support the A&A team in creating the technical documentation necessary for the ATO submission(s).
  • Design and manage cloud infrastructure to facilitate RDT&E workloads.
  • Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) to automate infrastructure in order to reduce the overhead necessary for managing cloud and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Assist in the development of optimal practices and policies for a hybrid cloud environment.
  • Enhance and continue to advance the COSMOS pilot program, providing ITD’s customers with a prototyping environment.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems is required.
  • An IAT Level III Certification (such as CASP+, CCNP, CISA, or CISSP) is required.
  • Must hold Cyber Security Workforce Baseline Qualifications for CSWF Specialty Area and Proficiency Level per Section 6.23.2 Cyber Security Workforce Qualifications.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Systems Administration, including at least 3 years of dedicated professional experience in setting up and managing enterprise solutions utilizing Amazon AWS and/or Microsoft Azure Cloud services.
  • Expertise in designing, deploying, and managing cloud solutions with a focus on Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Proficiency in designing, deploying, and orchestrating cloud-native applications using tools such as Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Expertise in developing automation scripts with Python, Terraform, or comparable technologies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of cloud security principles and best practices, as well as compliance standards applicable to government settings (such as NIST and FedRAMP).

Security Clearance:

  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required to start.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Practical experience using monitoring and logging tools to guarantee the performance and reliability of cloud workloads.
  • Strong communication abilities to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset to recognize and resolve potential challenges within cloud infrastructure.
  • Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.

Salary at RMC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, a candidate's specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific requirements. The current salary range for this position will be $80,000 to $120,000 (annually).
