Job Summary:
The Radiology Operations Manager is responsible for the daily oversight and operational execution of Radiology services across a multi-site, physician-owned, multi-specialty clinic. This role ensures that clinical and administrative operations align with the goals and strategic direction set by the Executive Director of Ancillary Services. The Radiology Operations Manager will focus on operational consistency, staffing, patient access, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance while fostering a collaborative, patient-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight
• Oversee daily Radiology operations, ensuring efficient workflow, optimal patient scheduling, and timely image processing across all clinic sites.
• Implement and monitor standardized protocols, procedures, and productivity benchmarks.
• Ensure proper equipment functionality, maintenance scheduling, and vendor coordination for imaging systems.
Staff Leadership
• Directly supervise Radiologic Technologists, Sonographers, and support staff.
• Manage daily staffing schedules to maintain coverage and productivity across multiple locations.
• Support hiring, onboarding, training, and continuous development of Radiology staff.
• Provide routine coaching and performance feedback, address performance concerns in coordination with HR and the Executive Director.
Quality & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation bodies (e.g., ACR, OSHA, HIPAA).
• Maintain documentation for quality assurance, safety checks, and inspection readiness.
• Participate in quality improvement projects to enhance patient care, safety, and diagnostic accuracy.
Financial & Resource Management
• Monitor supply usage and inventory; coordinate procurement to avoid shortages and minimize waste.
• Support the development and tracking of department budgets and performance metrics.
• Identify areas for cost savings and efficiency gains in staffing, supply management, and scheduling.
Collaboration & Communication
• Serve as a liaison between frontline staff and senior leadership to communicate goals, initiatives, and feedback.
• Work closely with providers, clinic leadership, IT, and ancillary departments to ensure seamless imaging workflows.
• Support implementation of new technologies, processes, or service lines in alignment with organizational goals.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in radiology operations or supervisory roles
• Strong understanding of outpatient imaging workflows and compliance requirements
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
• Proactive and responsive with a collaborative leadership style
Preferred:
• Experience in a multi-site, physician-owned clinic or ambulatory care environment
• Familiarity with PACS, RIS, and EMR systems
• Experience with imaging service line expansion or technology implementation
Education:
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology, Healthcare Administration, or related field
• ARRT certification (or equivalent) and active licensure as required by state law
Associates or better in Health Administration or related field.
