JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receives information from multiple sources for the department by answering the phone, responding to electronic communication, responding to questions, and relaying calls to various rehabilitation providers. Coordinates a daily schedule for multiple providers in multiple areas of the rehabilitation continuum.
Registers patients and performs insurance verification. Assists the licensed rehabilitation provider with charging, crediting, and canceling of rehabilitation procedures in a timely manner. Assists in the tracking of rehabilitation operations for inpatient and outpatient tasks.
Performs routine clerical duties. Processes paperwork and referrals and corresponds with key stakeholders to ensure the productive day to day operations of multiple rehabilitation providers in multiple rehabilitation service arenas.
Provides appropriate services to meet the needs of the department's customers including but not limited to assisting licensed rehabilitation professionals with therapeutic exercise programs/activities and treatment procedures. Provides effective and consistent communication and assists with documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
Performs routine rehabilitation tasks including tasks of minimal to moderate complexity for rehabilitation patients as directed by a licensed rehabilitation professional. Also performs basic housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe patient environment.
Performs quality control/customer satisfaction procedures as assigned, documents results, and investigates and resolves issues, with appropriate supervisory notification of activity. Participates in Quality Improvement/ Quality Assurance activities as determined by the organization including organizational operations improvement.
Evaluates current practices and makes appropriate suggestions to improve productivity and enhance expense reduction. Assists in the evaluation of new procedures and equipment, monitors the purchasing of supplies and inventory control. Assists multiple providers resulting in increased productivity.
Provides guidance for customers as it relates to rehabilitation areas and multiple procedures and operations.
Attends meetings as designated. Participates in professional activities and continuing education to maintain technical skills.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Conducts all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and Johnson Memorial Health policies and procedures including Blood and Body Substance Precautions.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience with office equipment and medical terminology required. One year experience in a related position preferred.
