We’re seeking an experienced and compassionate Manager of Counseling & Therapy Services to lead a dynamic team of therapists and social workers in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. In this vital leadership role, you’ll oversee clinical programming, staff development, and interdisciplinary collaboration to support adults in acute psychiatric crisis. Unity Center for Behavioral Health is a 24-hour behavioral and mental health services center located in the greater Portland metropolitan area. We provide immediate psychiatric care and a path to stabilization and recovery for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. Unity Center offers mental health treatment to adults and adolescents aged 9 to 17. We also have the only emergency department specifically for behavioral health emergencies in Oregon. The Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) serves adults 18 and older. We believe in a trauma informed approach to assessment and treatment.  For more information, please visit our website:  www.unityhealthcenter.org. 

 



Responsibilities

Manages the daily operational activities of Counseling and Therapy Services in alignment with the mission, values, and objectives of Unity Center for Behavioral Health. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Completes recruitment, interviewing, selection training and orientation of new staff. Completes comprehensive staffing of all units, assigns workloads and monitors quantity and quality of work. Responsible for budgeting including but not limited to monitoring operating budget, approve expenditures, purchases and other all actions to ensure the department is aligned with Legacy budget guidelines. Assists department leadership in planning and administering program, systems and policies relating to behavioral health care of patients. Provides therapy services to patients, depending on certification/licensure.



Qualifications

Education: 

  • Master’s degree required, preferably in behavioral health or health care management.

 

Experience: 

  • Four years’ experience in adult or adolescent behavioral health facility.  Experience in program organization, operations, and administration. Two years supervisory experience in multi-disciplinary clinical therapy services preferred.
  •  

 

Skills: 

  • Strong communication and leadership skills, and a willingness to lead by example.
  • Program planning and development skills.
  • Communication skills including public speaking.
  • Demonstrated leadership and judgment skills.
  • Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
