The IT Specialist position is a critical role within the IT organization and an invaluable resource for the Emeryville office of approximately 75 professionals. This position requires a highly motivated problem solver with above average customer service and technical skills. The right candidate will work diligently to support our customer base (aka BRG User) and our Windows and Mac desktop environment (including virtual) with a primary emphasis on the Emeryville office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Onsite. Maintain a presence in the office during regular business hours 5 days a week.
  • Respond to tier 1 and 2 customer requests for assistance related to all deployed hardware and software.
  • Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot laptops and desktops, both remotely (U.S., UK/EU, APAC and South America) and onsite.
  • Manage Entra ID (formerly Active Directory), including creating and modifying user settings.
  • Effectively use ServiceNow ticketing system for incident management, customer interaction and follow-up.
  • Help customers with questions and issues regarding usage of industry standard commercial off the shelf (COTS) software applications. (The Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Windows 10 Operating System, Windows Autopilot, Intune, etc.)
  • Maintain, deploy, and provide technical advice on telecommunications systems. This includes distributing, troubleshooting, and reclaiming BRG telephone numbers.
  • Work as part of a team, sharing duties and knowledge with other IT team members including tier 1 and tier 3.
  • Work with multiple platforms of technology and drive portions of those technologies.
  • Coordinate project actions with IT Service Management Supervisor and IT staff members, vendors and technical representatives, internal and external clients.
  • Provide offsite executive assistance for VIP via Executive Assistant.
  • Work closely with Workplace Services, Office Coordinator to provide special office activity support.
  • Troubleshoot mobile equipment, including tablets and smartphones.
  • Additional tasks may be required as directed by the IT Service Management Supervisor.

Job Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of IT experience, working in a similar capacity.
  • VIP customer satisfaction focus. Great customer service and interpersonal skills. Excellent and effective communication skills, including speaking, writing and active listening. Must have a positive, professional attitude.
  • IT Service Management ticketing experience (ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, Ivanti, Jira, etc.)
  • This position requires keen attention to detail. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Efficient troubleshooting abilities. Ability to solve complex problems by gathering facts and applying detailed trouble-shooting techniques.
  • Good organization, time management and prioritization. Ability to multitask and prioritize workload along with project assignments.
  • Strong knowledge of technology, hardware, and software in a professional services environment (e.g., extensive knowledge of Windows 11 operating system, desktop and network security issues and software functionality and deployment, including and Microsoft Office 365.
  • General working knowledge of basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, Routing, Sub-netting).
  • General working knowledge of anti-virus, backup, and remote access technologies.
  • The position will be based in Emeryville, CA but IT personnel are required to support customers in all BRG locations globally, including personnel and independent contractors working remotely.
  • This position will be responsible for going into the office Monday through Friday, under normal business hours.
  • Core Support hours for all BRG offices are from 8:00am-7:00pm local time. This shift will be between those hours.
  • On-call and overtime will be required with this position.
  • IT personnel may be required to travel for short periods of time. Trips will sometimes extend to 3-5 working days and could on rare occasions extend beyond 5 business days. All travel expenses will be reimbursed.

Preferred:
  • ITILv3 or ITIL 4 Foundation certification

Salary Range: $80,000-$105,000
