Function of Position:

Allow open labs throughout the semester during the day and evening for students use outside of class. Monitor the open labs and report any problems or issues with the machines and software. Ensure no food or drink is brought into the labs. Make sure the labs are straightened and look presentable for the next class that will be in the room after the lab.

This is a Federal Work Study position. Eligible applicants MUST have received prior approval from the Financial Aid Office. If you are unsure of your eligibility, please contact Financial Aid before applying.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:

Make sure students are signing in and out. Monitor usage of lab equipment. Assists students in the operation of the lab equipment, hardware and software. To report any hardware or software issues with the equipment and to forward any comments and suggestions to the Lab Manager that may help provide a more effective learning environment for the students. Monitor usage of lab equipment to prevent misplacement and misuse (MCC's Code of Conduct for Users of Computer Systems). Help to maintain the labs as a clean and safe facility. Students will learn how to use the lab equipment such as the large photo scanners, printers and some specifics on how to do things within Adobe Creative Cloud Applications. They will learn how to do preventive maintenance such as cleaning on the Macs and other equipment. During free time in the lab, students are encouraged to experiment and learn the applications on the machines as to gain further knowledge of said programs.

Required Qualifications:

• Applicants must be Federal Work Study eligible (you can confirm your eligibility with a Financial Aid representative)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently

Pay Rate: $15.50/hour
Hours per week: Up to 20 hours/week
