Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tableau Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our Tableau environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with both Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server, ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our data visualization platforms. This role requires a strong understanding of government IT security standards and the ability to work within a secure, classified environment.



Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade Tableau Server environments.
  • Manage user access, security, and permissions within Tableau Server.
  • Monitor Tableau Server performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement optimizations.
  • Perform regular data source maintenance, refreshes, and connectivity checks.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and developers to support data visualization needs.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to Tableau Desktop users.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for Tableau Server configurations, processes, and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with government security regulations and mandates.
  • Implement and manage disaster recovery and backup strategies for Tableau Server.
  • Automate administrative tasks using scripting (e.g., TabCmd, Python, PowerShell) where appropriate.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
  • DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II Certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP).
  • Proven experience administering Tableau Server in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong proficiency with Tableau Desktop for dashboard development, data source creation, and data blending.
  • Experience with Tableau Server architecture, including multi-node deployments, load balancing, and high availability.
  • Solid understanding of database concepts and SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues related to Tableau Server, data connectivity, and performance.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Desired Skills (Bonus Points):

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), particularly AWS AppStream 2.0.
  • Familiarity with AWS GovCloud.
  • Knowledge of or experience with Appian platform integration.
  • Experience with Databricks for data processing and analytics.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow (SNOW) for IT service management and ticketing.
  • Scripting experience (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automating Tableau administrative tasks.
  • Experience with other business intelligence tools or data visualization platforms.
