Do you have the people skills of a customer service superstar, the heart of a student advocate, and the ability to make even the FAFSA seem friendly? Then SIUE wants YOU to be our next Program Assistant (CS25-270) in Student Financial Aid! We have three openings!

We're looking for someone who can field phone calls like a champ, smooth out stressful situations, and connect students and families to the resources they need to succeed.
What You Will Do:

  • Telecommunications Titan: You're the first voice many students and parents hear-so you'll listen, empathize, and guide them with confidence and care.
  • Need Identifier Extraordinaire: Not every caller knows what they need-but you'll figure it out and connect them with the right people or tools. You're basically a human compass.
  • Master of Calm: De-escalate concerns with professionalism, patience, and a positive attitude. (Bonus points if you can make someone smile while talking about tuition.)
  • Appeals Advisor: Offer clear, compassionate guidance on financial aid appeals-because sometimes, students just need someone in their corner.
  • Student Success Sleuth: Use your judgment to refer students to support services that can help keep them on track and enrolled.
  • Feedback Facilitator: Help us get better every day. Share insights with the Assistant Director to shape our client satisfaction efforts and student service strategy.
  • Climate Checker: Keep a pulse on student feedback and campus vibes so we can communicate more clearly, support more effectively, and keep students informed and empowered.
Why SIUE?
At SIUE, we're here for students from day one to graduation-and beyond. As a Program Assistant, you'll be the friendly face (or voice) behind the scenes helping students stay informed, feel supported, and keep moving forward.
