Role: Production Supervisor, Specialty Transformers - 2nd Shift

  • Actively promote a safe work environment, keeping with our “Zero Accidents” philosophy. Be on the lookout for potential safety hazards and take necessary corrective action. Recommend process or product improvements, which can enhance safety.
  • Lead employees within the Department, adhering to labor contract and company policy. Enforce company policies and rules consistently with timely review & approval of time & labor clock punches to ensure timely pay to members of your team.
  • Coordinate work in process with other production supervisors to ensure internal customer requirements are met and smooth production flow is achieved without interruptions.
  • Identify and prevent potential capacity constraints, or bottlenecks.
  • Strive to meet all departmental goals in relation to output, quality, and on-time delivery of product.
  • Maintain department cleanliness and order. Our facilities shall be benchmark examples of 5S.
  • Prepare applicable production reports, as required.
  • Maintain control of departmental budget expenditures.
  • Promote positive employee relationships throughout plant, maintain open lines of communication and work with employees to resolve obstacles.
  • Provide training to new employees using manufacturing working procedures and training cards as a guide to improve training and to get more involved with the employee. Cross-train to achieve increased flexibility.
  • Assess and assist in upgrading the department's talent base by developing employees to achieve growth and meet market needs (i.e. reduced cost, shorter manufacturing/product introduction cycle times).
  • Ensure all employees are properly trained in the best-standardized work method.

Requirements:

Basic:

  • Must possess strong communication / listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead, coach and work closely with diverse group of employees.
  • Three+ years of demonstrated leadership.
  • Three+ years of manufacturing / operations experience.
  • Possess or be willing to obtain & maintain a credential as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) through the American Welding Society (AWS).
  • Aligned with WEG Code of Ethics: WEG Code of Ethics
  • Aligned with the technical and ethical principles required in AWS B5.1:2013-AMD1 Specification for the Qualification of Welding Inspectors.
  • Successful candidates will complete: application, talent assessment, on-site interview, and drug and background screens.
  • Safety Sensitive position: will screen for THC.
  • Resides within reasonable commuting distance of Washington MO.
  • Must have current work authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent).
  • Associates (2-year) and/or Bachelors (4-year) degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Experience with SAP, Paylocity, and working within a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge and application.
