Description:

Join our Human Resources team as an Internal Communications Specialist! In this position, you will play a key role in shaping how we connect with, engage, and inform our people. This position will be responsible for crafting clear, compelling messages that align with our values, drive engagement, and support our culture across all internal channels.

You’ll partner closely with leaders, HR, and teams across the business to ensure consistent, timely communication that supports transparency and fosters two-way dialogue. From campaign planning to execution, you’ll help ensure employees feel informed, connected, and valued. This position will own and manage the YVFWC intranet site and other Internal Communications platforms.

Position Highlights:

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Proactive – anticipates communication needs, identifies opportunities to improve employee understanding and engagement, and takes initiative to solve problems before they arise

  • Detail-oriented – ensures communications are accurate, consistent, and aligned with brand tone and messaging, with strong proofreading and editing skills

  • A strong writer – can turn complex topics into clear, engaging content tailored to the audience and channel, with excellent storytelling skills

  • Collaborative and confident – able to work cross-functionally, influence stakeholders, and build trusted relationships

  • Skilled in project management - able to plan, prioritize, and deliver communications campaigns on time and with impact

  • Digitally savvy – comfortable using internal platforms (e.g., intranet, email tools, video, collaborative messaging apps like Teams/Slack) to reach dispersed or hybrid audiences.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and execute our internal communications strategy across platforms

  • Write and manage content—newsletters, emails, intranet, videos, presentations

  • Own the intranet: keep it current, user-friendly, and aligned with company goals

  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure messages are clear, consistent, and on-brand

  • Proofread and review all internal content for tone, clarity, and compliance

  • Support crisis communications to keep staff informed and connected

  • Plan and support org-wide events and all-hands meetings

  • Track communication effectiveness and adjust based on insights

  • Foster employee engagement through culture-focused initiatives

  • Maintain a content calendar to ensure timely, strategic messaging

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or a related field + 2 years of experience writing effective communications and/or creating support content for a broad audience OR

  • Associate’s Degree + 4 years of experience writing effective communications and/or creating support content for a broad audience OR

  • High School Diploma or GED + 6 years of experience writing effective communications and/or creating support content for a broad audience

  • Experience with content creation and delivery, including email, newsletters, intranet content, videos, and presentations, is also required
