Job Description/Responsibilities
The Department of Biological Sciences, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville invites applications for a non-tenure track position at the Instructor level. The primary teaching responsibilities will be in Human Anatomy and Physiology and a non-major's course in microbiology, plus additional introductory major and non-major biology courses as needed. Teaching assignments may include supervision of teaching assistants and managing laboratory components of each course. We seek applicants with broad training in biological sciences and experience emphasizing human anatomy and physiology and/or microbiology is highly desirable.

Minimum Qualifications
An M.S. degree in biology, anatomy, physiology, microbiology or related field and demonstrated record of effective teaching.

Preferred Qualifications
A terminal degree in biology, anatomy, physiology, microbiology or related field. Demonstrated record of managing teaching assistants in large courses with multiple sections and experience with evidence-based models of collaborative learning such as Peer-Led Team Learning.
