Position Summary

This is an onsite position in Atlanta, GA.

National Capitol Contracting (NCC) is seeking an energetic Telecommunications Engineer to join our dynamic team of professionals on a full-time basis. In this role, you will performing communications engineering activities, providing technical/operational support, and customer service for a Federal Agency's Regional office, and other sites within the Atlanta region. 

Key Areas of Responsibility 

  • Install, troubleshoot, and support or assist with Audio Video Conference Rooms (Microsoft Teams Rooms)
  • Provide technical assistance and training to users.
  • Perform fault determination and place repair requests.
  • Support video broadcast connectivity.
  • Manage, troubleshoot and install VOIP/soft phones and process adds/moves/changes/cancellations
  • Communicated with customers and answer customer e-mails.
  • Research information regarding the technology used by the EPA.
  • Process requests and tickets using ServiceNow
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance (must be able to pass a criminal background and credit check).
  • Associate Degree or 5 years of equivalent Telecom industry experience.
  • Prior experience with configuring and running live events including establishing sight lines, microphone deployments, presenter support, and gig worker assignments.
  • Prior experience with technical installation of audiovisual systems, site preparation, and/or understanding of a design/build integrator organization.
  • Experience in the administration of Avaya VoIP systems and traditional telecommunications services (Analog POTS Lines, T-1 circuits, Networking, VOIP, etc.)
  • Solid working knowledge of basic TCP/IP Networking (IP Addressing, subnetting, switching, port configuration and routing).
  • Ability to understand and communicate with the client regarding Broadcast and AV systems, equipment, or related technical issues.
  • Experience with convergence of AV with telecom and IT.
  • Experience supporting WebEX, MS Teams, and other video collaboration platforms.
  • Experience with MS Office (Teams, Outlook, Work, Excel, Powerpoint).
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with excellent customer service skills to provide high level service to a wide rang of technical and non-technical staff.
  • Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
  • Customer Service Oriented 
  • Prompt, dependable, and able to work outside of core hours if required 
  • Strong self-starter and can work independently 
  • Communication within the team and other contractors, as well as 3rd party vendors
  • Physical requirements, ability to lift 40 lbs, work with hands, walk through the building

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

  • Certifications in:
    • Avaya VoIP systems, Crestron AV gear, Crestron Flex, Windows 10/11 maintenance and troubleshooting (OS updates, application installation, account management, etc.) as required to support Windows based Teams Room systems
  • UC/Conferencing knowledge, experience, and training in MS Teams, ZoomGov, or other UC platforms.

Special Position Requirements

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm with flexibility to meet customer's needs.

Environment/Physical Demands: Standing for periods of time, walking throughout campus to each conference room/event space, Ability to lift 40 lbs, work with hands.
