JOB TITLE: ASSEMBLER D (Hoist Assembly Technician - RY)

Non-Exempt Position

REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor / Plant Manager

DEPARTMENT: Assembly

BASIC FUNCTION:

Electro-mechanical wire rope hoist assembly, component staging, advanced load, function, and quality assurance testing, test data acquisition and documentation, wire rope measuring, cutting and installation, product packaging and shipping preparation.

GENERAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process customer orders and production work orders for wire rope hoist assembly.
  • Assemble and test, electric wire rope trolley hoists, deck mount wire rope hoists, and double girder wire rope hoists per customer’s specifications.
  • Perform all sub-assembly processes required for final assembly.
  • Conduct advanced testing process to meet quality, safety, and functionality specifications for wire rope hoist assembly.
  • Prepare assembled products for shipment.
  • Responsible for producing acceptable work which meets or exceeds Quality Control Standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area.
  • Contribute ideas and initiatives to our continuous improvement efforts for efficiency, safety, and productivity for assembly process.
  • Exhibit interpersonal skills sufficient to perform as an active team member.
  • Perform other duties as requested by company management.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have high school diploma or acceptable equivalent.
  • Vocational education in Electromechanical Technology or similar education or experience preferred.
  • Good communication skills.
  • General computer skills.
  • Basic Microsoft Excel knowledge.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to safely operate manual and power hand tools.
  • Ability to operate a digital multi-meter.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits.
  • 1 – 3 years Electromechanical Assembly experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Some stooping, squatting, climbing stairs and bending.
  • Occasional heavy lifting.
  • Ability to stand 7+ hours per day.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Willing to help out in other areas when help is necessary.
  • Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.
  • Demonstrate a positive and business-like attitude.
  • Motivated team player looking for an opportunity to contribute and be involved with the start-up of a new product and process.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Required to wear all OSHA mandated safety equipment and to adhere to all company safety practices and policies.
  • Conduct all interactions with customers (internal and external), vendors, field sales representatives, co-workers, and supervisors in a focused, positive, courteous and respectful manner.
