Description

We are currently seeking a Laborer to join our Field Service Center team. Reporting to the Yard Group Leader, the Yard Laborer is responsible for all routine on-site of loading and unloading construction materials. This is a safety sensitive position requiring work on construction sites with various safety hazards inherent in heavy construction.

This position is subject to drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.

Core competencies include: design-build, infrastructure, marine construction, modified concrete, grooving and grinding, and geotechnical construction services.

Qualifications:

  • Construction related experience
  • Operating forklifts, loading, and unloading trucks
  • Heavy equipment familiarity is a plus
  • Basic reading and writing skills

Essential Functions

  • Loading and unloading construction materials and equipment manually or using forklifts, dollies, hand trucks or cranes;
  • Inspecting materials; sorting and or stacking incoming equipment and materials;
  • Preparing equipment and materials, according to work orders, for transport to projects, etc.;
  • Cleaning and washing various construction equipment;
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements of the Essential Functions

  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds from ground level to waist level and 30 pounds to above shoulder level throughout work shift
  • Must be able to work at heights up to 150 feet
  • Continuous standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands
  • Must be able to climb ladders
  • Must be able to bend, squat, kneel and crawl
  • Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather
  • Required to have acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing
  • Required to have the ability to reach, lift and perform work above shoulder height - and the ability to work on uneven surfaces and in confined spaces
