Overview

We are hiring a Network Engineer III for a full-time, on-site contract position in Orlando, FL. This one-year engagement, with the possibility of extension, involves advanced network design, troubleshooting, and support for both traditional enterprise networks and the Industrial Control Network (ICN) used to operate critical infrastructure such as CCTV, access control systems, and building automation.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in LAN/WAN architecture, is comfortable leading multi-site connectivity efforts, and can manage technical operations within a federal healthcare environment.

The Skills You Will Gain

  • Deep experience in configuring and maintaining enterprise and industrial networks
  • Proficiency working with CCTV, access control, and building automation technologies (e.g., JCI Metasys, Pelco, AMAG)
  • Familiarity with federal IT standards such as NIST SP 800-171 Rev. 3 and VA cybersecurity protocols
  • Strength in documenting and managing IP address allocations and telecommunications room configurations
  • Skills in supporting complex projects involving network expansion, migrations, and vendor coordination

What Your Typical Day Will Be

  • Configure, monitor, and maintain LAN and wireless infrastructure across VA facilities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, IP network, and ICN-related issues
  • Coordinate the deployment of new ICN equipment including cameras, access systems, and building controls
  • Document and manage network addressing plans, DNS/WINS setups, and VLAN configurations
  • Lead or assist in integrating new remote locations without redesigning existing infrastructure
  • Provide updates and recommendations during project meetings and planning sessions
  • Track and respond to internal and vendor communications related to ICN system performance
  • Support federal compliance through technical documentation and network audits
  • Supervise on-site contractors performing work related to ICN installs and upgrades

 

What You Bring to The Table

  • Strong understanding of routing, switching, and IP-based network architecture
  • Practical experience working with or supporting industrial control systems
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize technical tasks, and maintain accurate documentation
  • Comfort working in secure, regulated environments with sensitive infrastructure
  • Excellent communication skills for working with internal teams, vendors, and federal stakeholders
  • Adaptability to manage multiple concurrent projects while meeting operational deadlines

Qualifications

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Active and valid within its three-year certification cycle
  • CompTIA Security+ Active and valid within its three-year certification cycle
  • CompTIA Network+ CE Active and valid within its three-year certification cycle
  • ISC2 CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) Active and valid within its three-year certification cycle
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Required; no expiration required
  • 5 7+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering
  • Strong technical knowledge in IP routing, LAN/WAN architecture, DNS, VPN, and ICN systems
  • Experience supporting CCTV, access control systems, building automation, and compliance-driven environments
  • Familiarity with federal IT security frameworks including NIST SP 800-171 Rev. 3
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Work Environment and Location

  • On-site role based in Orlando, FL
  • Work may involve travel to additional VA sites within the system
  • Standard weekday schedule with occasional support during project-critical events
  • Professional federal healthcare environment with mission-critical infrastructure
