Power BI Developer
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Power BI Developer to join our Data & Analytics team. This role involves managing and optimizing our Power BI environment to support business intelligence and data analytics across the organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technical and business units, to develop insightful data solutions that enhance data-driven decision-making.
How You Will Help
Report & Dashboard Development
Design and develop interactive, user-friendly Power BI dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights.
Implement row-level security (RLS), DAX calculations, and performance optimization for efficient dashboard functionality.
Lead BI projects from requirements gathering to deployment, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical execution.
Build optimized data models (star/snowflake schemas) and integrate with diverse data sources, including Snowflake, SharePoint, D365 (CE/FO/BC), Azure, Microsoft One Lake, Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Warehouse), SQL Server, and external APIs.
Connect to and transform Dynamics 365 data (e.g., Dataverse, OData feeds, APIs) for analytics consumption in Power BI.
Maintain and enhance existing dashboards, ensuring they meet current business needs.
Power BI Administration
Manage user access to Power BI resources, including workspaces, datasets, reports, and apps.
Monitor and optimize Power BI and Fabric capacity for peak performance and efficient resource utilization.
Enforce security policies, data governance standards, and best practices to maintain a secure and scalable Power BI and Fabric environment.
User Support & Engagement
Troubleshoot and resolve user access, security, connection, data errors, and report rendering issues.
Investigate and clarify KPI and metric-related queries in existing dashboards.
Provide continuous guidance and support to users, promoting self-service analytics adoption.
Gather user feedback to ensure Power BI adapts to evolving organizational needs.
Training & Documentation
Develop and deliver training materials and workshops to educate users on Power BI capabilities.
Create and maintain user documentation, including FAQs, how-to guides, and best practices for effective Power BI utilization.
Document and promote modern data practices within Microsoft Fabric, including the usage of One Lake and workspace governance.
What You Will Bring
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to engage effectively with end-users, BI teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree, in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
5+ years of experience in Power BI development and administration.
Strong proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Power Query, DAX, and data gateway management.
SQL expertise with experience working in Snowflake, Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, or other cloud data warehouses.
Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
Strong problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
Experience working with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Data Factory, and Notebooks.
Experience with Microsoft SSRS, Microsoft Copilot, Power Automate, and Power Apps is a plus.
Familiarity with Direct Query and Import strategies for D365 data sources.
Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric governance, security roles, and deployment of pipelines is a plus.
Microsoft Power BI certification or related credentials are a plus.
Prior experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus.
Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $105,000.00 - $130,000.00 USD annually*.
