We are looking for a detail-oriented person who loves to help others especially our United States Veterans! PDS Optical is looking for a Billing and Customer Service Clerk to complete our team! The Billing and Customer Service position serves customers by providing product and service information, resolving product and service problems. The orders start here and are reviewed, priced, and then passed along to Data Entry for processing.Ā 

This is a full-time, onsite position, Monday - Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm. The starting pay for this position is $16.00 per hour. Optical experience is preferred but not required.Ā 


Essential Functions

  • Receive orders from customers which can include VA, Medicaid, Wholesale, Safety, or RetailĀ 
  • Must proofread, edit, price, and highlight necessary areas.Ā 
  • Verifies entered customer and account data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or reentering data which may include verifying the eligibility of order.Ā 
  • Follow up on duties associated with obtaining any missing data required for processing.Ā 
  • Provide professional customer service to customer account reps or patients, answer phones, follow up with orders, files, emails, tracking patient's orders and status, etc.Ā 
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential and protected under HIPPA.Ā 


Work Environment

This position operates mostly in an office setting located adjacent to an optical laboratory. The temperature can vary the noise level such as phone ringing may be slightly distracting with many interruptions. This position also requires working in close proximity to a diverse group of other co-workers.
