Position: Industrial Sprayer Lead
Location: Bloomfield Plant – Bloomfield, NM

Hours of work: Full-time position with hours Monday-Friday 7:00-3:30 PM


 

The Industrial Sprayer Lead will take on key responsibilities in the manufacture of pressure vessels on-site, particularly focused on coatings and related work. The Industrial Sprayer Lead will take a lead on inspecting equipment, utilizing painting tools, and monitoring ambient conditions. This role also involves the troubleshooting and quality control of equipment in the field.
 
 Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)

  • Inspects interior and exterior lining and coating systems on purchased and produced equipment. Coatings include but are not limited to: Plasite 4110, 4006, Ceilcote 242, epoxy, polyurethane-based coatings
  • Utilizes conventional spray, airless spray and hand painting equipment in the application of exterior paint/coating systems to all types of equipment, systems and products produced by Calgon Carbon Corp. These include but are not limited to epoxy, polyurethane and zinc coatings
  • Utilizes conventional spray, airless spray in the application of interior tank coatings such as vinyl ester and epoxy-based materials, Plastite 4110, Ceilcote 242, epoxy mastic, etc.
  • Utilizes plural component spray equipment to coat both interiors and exteriors with elastomeric and modified polyurethanes such as Sherwin Williams Sherflex, Carboline Reactomine 760 or similar products
  • Prepares equipment for painting and coating by cleaning, solvent wiping, taping and papering prior to painting
  • Mixes paint and linings in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions
  • Visually inspects own work for defects and noncompliance to specifications and makes necessary repairs
  • Inspections will include both surface preparation and finished coatings. Surface preparation verification in accordance with SSPC for cleanliness and surface profile. Coating inspection will include dry film thickness gage use, holiday or spark testing. Complete inspection result documentation
  • Ambient condition monitoring and reporting. Wet bulb and dry bulb temperature, relative humidity and surface temperature to ensure application requirement compliance
  • Operate fork trucks and overhead cranes while moving equipment in and out of paint booth
  • Assist in other areas with various tasks as required
  • Travel to customer or vendor locations to troubleshoot and fix quality related issues
  • Supervise day-to-day production activity of employees on shift
     

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent certification is required
  • A one-year certificate from a college or technical school is preferred
  • 2-3 years of blasting or painting experience is required
  • 2-3 years of leadership experience is required
