Position: Lecturer

Description:

The Department of Philosophy at Princeton University may have occasional curricular openings for Lecturers to teach precepts for undergraduate courses during the 2025-2026 academic year, and accepts applications in advance in the event the occasion arises where such lecturers are needed. These courses may focus on areas such as ethics, logic and introductory philosophy. Serving in a preceptor capacity requires leading weekly discussions, attending course lectures, meeting with the course instructor(s), holding regular on-campus office hours, and grading student exams and papers. Appointment duty time will depend upon student enrollment, and positions may begin September 1, 2025, or January 16, 2026 depending on the needs of the department, with the potential for renewal depending on departmental need. Expected Salary Range: $81,700 - $86,000

The posted salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate for a full-time position; salaries for part-time positions are pro-rated accordingly.
