Business Development Marketing Associate



The Business Development Marketing Associate will work with the Office of Industry and Economic Partnerships, within the Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The individual will collaborate directly with the Office of Industry and Economic Partnerships marketing and business development staff and the Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship's licensing team. This role will work with faculty for marketing collateral scientific review.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Create materials (e.g. non-confidential technology and research summaries) to market Pitt intellectual property and technologies, using on-line tools including Copilot and other proprietary tools.
  • Develop materials and marketing collateral to promote Pitt research to external industry and financial partners, including for conferences, using social media, the Pitt OIEP website
  • Conduct health sciences market research to provide insights into company and market needs, focusing on fields and therapeutic areas that align with Pitt research strengths.


Qualifications include:

  • Life sciences background required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, primary research skills and knowledge are essential.
  • Knowledge and experience using social media and other platforms for marketing is advantageous.
