About the Position
Responsible for financial and operations management of the overall fleet program. This position will oversee fleet strategy, regional and national operations, life cycle analysis options, maintenance, leasing, rentals, and vendor relationships. This role ensures the fleet operates efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively in alignment with the company's mission statement, policies, and regulatory compliance standards. The position requires strong leadership, logistical insight, financial acumen, and strategic planning skills. This role collaborates closely with construction executives, senior leadership, labor managers, and regional fleet managers to align fleet operations with project demands.

Day in the Life
- Creates, communicates, and maintains corporate fleet policies and procedures to include information regarding vehicle assignment, personal use, replacement, and other critical related topics. Creates and maintains positive customer, vendor, and community relationships.
- Oversee the acquisition, leasing, maintenance, and disposal of company vehicles.
- Ensures compliance with DOT, OSHA, EPA, and local vehicle regulations.
- Monitors fleet performance metrics and generate detailed operational reports.
- Manages vendor relationships for vehicle procurement, maintenance, fuel, and telematics services.
- Supervises regional fleet managers, mechanics, and/or external service providers.
- Ensures timely registration, licensing, and insurance of fleet assets.
- Coordinates training for vehicle safety, driver compliance, and environmental impact.
- Collaborate with departments to forecast fleet needs based on business growth and service demand.
- Leverages automotive industry knowledge and expertise to provide technical support regarding field vehicle issues and concerns. Provides technical leadership, support and guidance on vehicle sustainability, design and maintenance intervals and maintenance process opportunities.
- Leads and manages the annual budgeting process and manages financials related to fleet operations. Reports fleet expense performance regularly to senior management, including annual report when submitting the following year's budget. Leads cost accounting for all vehicle related expenses across all business units.
- Analyzes and selects new vehicles to order, lease and equip in accordance with specifications provided by each operating division. Oversee the sale of leased vehicles via wholesale or auction markets. Manages, assigns, and tracks the appropriate use of pool vehicles as required.
- Analyzes and recommends potential cost savings programs for fleet, such as predictive analytics or GPS tracking, and leads program design and implementation.
- Manages fleet program details related to fuel cards, accident management, maintenance, and other administrative activities. Provides training and ensures accountability of vehicle safety procedures, processes, and initiatives.
- Tracks Total Ownership Cost (TOC) for each vehicle for vehicle selection and replacement. Creates and analyzes vehicle cost and exception reports. Maintains confidentiality of pricing information and negotiation related to fleet purchasing and operations.
- Develop and implement fleet strategies that support current and future project needs.
- Optimizes fleet utilization and lifecycle management across all equipment categories.
- Create and implement fleet policies and procedures to include information regarding vehicle assignment, personal use, replacement, and other critical related topics. Creates and maintains positive customer, vendor, and community relationships.
- Identifies opportunities for cost savings through vendor negotiations, fuel efficiency, or equipment standardization. Oversees fleet program details related to fuel cards, accident management, maintenance, and other administrative activities.
- Negotiate contracts and service level agreements to ensure competitive pricing and high-quality service.
- Manages acquisition, leasing, disposal, and replacement schedules of vehicles. Maintains asset records including registration, titles, warranties, and equipment logs.
- Utilizes fleet management software to monitor usage, track KPIs, and report performance metrics.
- Analyze fleet data to support decision-making and forecast equipment needs.
- Provides high quality communications, hiring, mentoring, and training to staff and other coworkers as needed. Coaches employees and provides performance feedback regularly. Plans, measures, and ensures compliance with the department budget.
- Cultivates strong and cooperative working relationships with internal and external customers and vendors that reflect and support the Company's core values and meet or exceed the customer's expectations.
- Consistently makes decisions in an attentive and safe manner to ensure the safety and health of self and others.
- Utilizes LEAN concepts or other continuous improvement methodologies to ensure the most efficient operations, processes, and activities.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Construction Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in fleet management or relevant work. Skills and experience using asset tracking software, and the ability to learn and master new systems, software, and reporting tools.
- In-depth knowledge of the fleet and automotive industry, technology, and operations. Strong knowledge and understanding of vehicle systems and technologies, with an ability to review vehicle warranties and determine a course of action when required.
- Extensive finance and accounting skills pertinent to vehicle purchase and lease processes. Experience with pricing, leasing, and ordering vehicles. Experience and skills in establishing budgets and working with external vendors to negotiate purchases.
- Superior cost accounting, analytical, critical thinking and mathematical skills, and experience performing lease versus buy analyses, including tax and accounting implications. Experience and skills in creating and establishing Company policies and procedures. Strong detail orientation.
- Excellent problem solving, verbal and written communication skills, including high quality documentation and report preparation.
- Exceptional listening, presentation, customer focus, negotiation, conflict management and persuasion skills, and the ability to influence employees at all levels, including senior management.
- Strong leadership, teamwork, effective collaboration, interpersonal, organizational, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work with diverse work teams. Demonstrated elevated levels of professionalism, integrity, and dependability.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- 6-8 years of full-cycle recruitment experience, preferably in construction or related industry.
- In-depth knowledge of US Employment laws.
- Experience using HRIS, ATS and Recruitment Marketing tools
- Ability to identify, source and engage candidates through creative and innovative sourcing approaches utilizing various sourcing tools / techniques.
- Capability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Highly effective verbal communicator and collaborator
- Efficient and effective organization and time management skills.
Salary Range
- $ 63,000 - 90,400 annually, based on experience and qualifications
