Overview

Lutron Electronics Co., Inc has an immediate opening for a 1st shift Production Planner at our facility in Austin, TX.  In this position, you will be responsible for scheduling the production operations for multiple Production work cells.  Additionally, you will be responsible for materials management for your assigned productions areas.  This includes planning and ordering materials through internal transfer orders or direct buys from suppliers to ensure materials are on hand to meet customer demand.  You will work with cross-functional teams using your technical knowledge and proven communication skills to execute on production plans that meet and exceed customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze capacity plans based on Master Planning Schedule and recommend adjustments to ensure optimal throughput and cost efficiencies.
  • Process MRP build messages to schedule production and prioritize builds to meet customer demand.
  • Evaluate inventory needs of raw materials and packaging materials for production orders.
  • Identify shortages to meet production schedule and coordinate delivery of parts to expedite flow of material.
  • Working closely with engineering team to schedule and prioritize special engineering runs to meet business needs.
  • Help maintain MRP system parameters.
  • Communicate with various departments within the organization on production issues and customer orders to include estimated ship dates and expedite requests
  • Ensure all missed customer orders have been identified and proactively communicated to our service teams
  • Build and cultivate relationships with all stakeholders

Qualifications



  • Ability to work 1st shift production schedule (Mon-Fri from 6:30am to 3:00pm)
  • High school diploma with 3+ years' experience OR associate's degree with 1+ years of experience
  • If you have less than 3 years' experience, a degree with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required
  • Experience in production scheduling or materials management (SAP preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Lean manufacturing and/or six sigma certifications is a plus
