Overview

Support technical development activities within the Food R&D department. Collaborate with R&D, Marketing, and cross-functional team members to execute product development projects. Assist with benchtop testing, quality evaluations, and analytical testing using laboratory instruments to support innovation and continuous improvement.



Responsibilities

  1. Support prototype development
  • Prepare food prototypes in the lab according to project requirements and timelines.
  1. Conduct and support cooking trials
  • Perform cooking tests using standard procedures to evaluate product quality, texture, and performance.
  1. Assist with analytical testing
  • Operate laboratory instruments to measure physical and chemical properties of food samples in a controlled environment.
  1. Coordinate microbiological testing
  • Request external microbiological analyses and assist in interpreting results to ensure food safety and compliance.
  1. Participate in scale-up trials
  • Support pilot plant or production-scale trials to validate lab findings and assess manufacturing feasibility.
  1. Prepare and maintain technical documentation
  • Create, update, and organize technical reports, test records, and formulation documents in a clear and accurate manner.
  1. Manage project tasks and timelines
  • Track assigned tasks and communicate progress to ensure deadlines are met and project goals are achieved.
  1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Work effectively with internal departments such as R&D, Marketing, and Quality to support project execution and share technical insights.


Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s (junior or senior level) or Master’s degree in food science, Food Chemistry, or a related field
  • Strong academic record (GPA 3.0+ preferred)
  • Willingness to taste food products, including those containing animal-derived ingredients
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks accurately and efficiently
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Pay Range $26.00 - $30.00 per hour.
