IT Infrastructure Support Engineer - North Alabama - Military veterans preferred

Responsibilities

Hexagon ALI IT is seeking a highly skilled IT Infrastructure Support Engineer to play a pivotal role in supporting our organization's on-premise and cloud IT infrastructure. This position is based in Madison, Alabama, and is responsible for managing our primary data center. The role focuses on maintaining a modern server infrastructure, providing comprehensive hardware support, and ensuring seamless IT operations.

• Communication Infrastructure: Configure and maintain Microsoft Teams and Teams Telephony to ensure effective voice and video communication services.
• Audiovisual and Conferencing Systems: Install, troubleshoot, and maintain audiovisual equipment to guarantee clear communication during meetings and events.
• Procurement and Asset Management: Create Purchase Orders (POs) for hardware and other assets, manage inventory, track asset locations, and ensure records are up-to-date.
• Server Infrastructure Support: Diagnose hardware failures, log support items, and coordinate with support vendors for on-site field repairs when necessary. Track hardware assets with various application teams and update IT records accordingly.
• Data Center Oversight: Manage and maintain the organization’s primary data center, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of critical infrastructure.

This position provides significant flexibility, allowing for remote work. You will be expected to come into the office as needed to address technical support issues that require on-site presence, such as hardware repairs or network diagnostics. These on-site requirements will be dictated by the nature of the issue and will not necessitate a full-day presence.

Education / Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA, Cisco, MCITP.
• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in an IT Support role.
• Proficiency in Networking, Windows Server Administration, and other Microsoft technologies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• CJIS compliance certification is preferred but not required. Opportunities for CJIS certification will be provided.
• Experience with audiovisual equipment and communication tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong problem-solving skills for technical issues, with the ability to communicate solutions clearly.
• Must be located in the North Alabama area as this position requires in-office attendance as needed to support essential on-site operations
