Description:
Perform core making work and communicate/coordinate activities of all core makers to ensure quality performance in core room. Serve as Die Services sand molding expert. Review production schedule and allocate resources to ensure on-time completion of product. Monitor quality and production of all core making activities.
Maintain accurate documentation of sand use, scrap, material inventory, pattern inventory and completed product. Order materials to maintain adequate levels of inventory.
Review sand/core testing of all shifts to ensure quality of all testing. Create and maintain SPC charts of lab testing results. Analyze and understand test results and communicate issues or make recommendations to supervisor based on the results.
Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on mixer and other core making equipment (i.e. cleaning auger on mixer, changing teeth in auger, oiling tensile tester, etc.) Responsible for ensuring appropriate maintenance checks are complete.
Train new core makers in all aspects of the job.
Requirements:
3 or more years of sand foundry core/mold making experience.
Familiarity with a variety of sand and binder systems and molding techniques.
Knowledge of sand testing and reclamation systems.
Solid math skills and experience with a variety of measuring instruments.
Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. repeatedly.
Must have or be able to attain forklift certifications. Experience with overhead cranes strongly preferred
